Two-Dimensional Versus Three-Dimensional Symmetric Lifting Motion Prediction Models: A Case Study

چکیده

Abstract Symmetric lifting is a common manual material handling strategy in daily life and the main cause of low back pain. In literature, symmetric mainly simulated by using two-dimensional (2D) models because their simplicity computational cost. practice, however, can generate asymmetric kinetics especially when weight heavy based on 2D misses this important information. Therefore, three-dimensional (3D) are necessary for simulation to capture kinetics. The purpose single-subject case study compare optimization formulations results 3D human identify pros cons. study, 10-degrees-of-freedom (DOFs) skeletal model 40-DOFs employed predict maximum motion, respectively. problem formulated as multi-objective (MOO) minimize dynamic effort maximize box weight. An inverse approach used determine optimal motion considering joint strength. Lab experiments carried out validate predicted motions. ground reaction forces (GRFs), from Subject #8 compared with experimental data. Recommendations given.

Three-dimensional (3D) versus two-dimensional (2D) laparoscopic adrenalectomy: A case-control study.

INTRODUCTION Laparoscopic adrenalectomy is today considered the gold standard of treatment for adrenal tumors. The development of high definition cameras does not eliminate the major limitation of two-dimensional (2D) laparoscopy: lack of depth perception and loss of spatial orientation. Tree-dimensional (3D) HD laparoscopy was developed as an alternative to conventional 2D laparoscopy. METHO...

Three-dimensional lifting schemes for motion compensated video compression

Three dimensional wavelet decompositions are efficient tools for scalable video coding. In this paper, we show the interest of a lifting formulation of these decompositions. The temporal wavelet transform is inherently non-linear, due to the motion estimation step, and the lifting formalism allows us to provide several improvements to the scheme initially proposed by Choi and Woods: a better pr...

Two-dimensional constraints on three-dimensional structure from motion tasks

Can humans recover metric structure from motion sequences or, as has been claimed by Todd and Bressan [(1990) Perception & Psychophysics, 48, 419-430], are they limited to recovering only relief structure? Two experiments were carried out to investigate this question. In a metric-structure task, the angular thresholds for discriminating two rotating bi-planar structures were approximately 91 de...

Comparative study of three‐dimensional versus two‐dimensional video‐assisted thoracoscopic two‐port lobectomy

BACKGROUND The advantages and disadvantages of three-dimensional (3D) and two-dimensional (2D) two-port video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) lobectomy and systematic dissection of mediastinal lymph nodes for lung cancer were investigated. METHODS Between December 2013 and July 2015 at Beijing Hospital, 191 patients underwent lobectomy and systematic dissection of mediastinal lymph node...
